Top line bet- It is also known as five line bet and is unique to American live roulette only. It is placed on five numbers including 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3 and chips are placed on the point of junction of 0 and 1 or 00 and 3.

As the inside bets are risky, so a player should stake his money only in small shots. 

Now let us discuss about somewhat less risky bets i.e. outside bets.
  
High low bets- This type of bet is placed either on high numbers including 1 to 18 or low numbers including 19 to 36.   

Odd-even bets- As the name clarifies, these bets are placed on even or odd numbers by placing chips on relevant boxes. Zero in live roulette wheel is counted in favour of the houses at all the times.

Red-black bet- This bet is placed on the chances of the ball landing either on red or black number. Since volume of red and black numbers is equal on the roulette wheel and so are the chances of ball landing on these two numbers. It is the most common and simple type of bet and is placed by positioning chips in either red or black diamond shaped boxes on the roulette wheel. 

Columns bet- This type of bet is placed on any of the three columns of 12 number combinations and the chips are placed just below the concluding number in the column. 
 
Dozens bet- It is somewhat identical to columns bet and is placed on one of the three groups of 12 numbers. The relevant groups on roulette table are 1-12; 13-24 and 25-36.
